GRINCH – AMIGURUMI Pattern

⚠️For this tutorial you will need to know the basic crochet stitches:

• Magic Ring = mg
• Chain = ch
• Slip Stitch= slst
• Single Crochet = sc
• Half Double Crochet = hdc
• Double Crochet = dc
• Triple Double Crochet= tdc
• Increase = inc
• Decrease = dec
• Back loop Only= BLO
• Front loop Only = FLO
• Puff stitch = puff

Materials:

• Yarn of the fiber of your preference #4mm (lemon green, (thyme Yarn), red, white, pink, orange, white and blue-green felt.
• 5mm safety eyes(fixed)
• #2.75 mm hook,
• Pins,
• spacers,
• Scissors.
• Optional filling:

tweezers,thin moldable wire (galvanized 24cauge)

FEET(2):(video)

• (lemon green)

1.- 1 slst, 3sc , 3sc on last ch, 3sc, 2 slst, 1ch,( Slst. On the same last slst)1slst,(this is gonna be the last St. Of 1r)

2.- 1Sc BLO(Move marker here to make the first sc of round 2), 2sc on blo,3inc on blo,3sc on blo ,3slst on blo,1ch, 2sls in blo,=18st.

3.-12sc, (Skip 6 sliptiches and start round 4 on 7th St.)

4r.- 10sc, 1sc left(decrease this st with a st from next r)=11sc

5r.- 1dec with the 1sc left from previous round, 4sc, 1dec, 4sc=10sc

6r.- 1dec, 7sc=8sc(leave 1st)

7r. 1dec ( with the last left st from Round 6), 3sc, 1dec, 2sc=7sc

8r. 1dec, 5sc=6sc

9-13r.- 6sc around.(5r)

14r.- 5sc, 1inc=7sc

15r.- 7sc

16r.- 2sc, 1inc, 4sc=8sc

17r.- 7sc, 1inc=9sc

18r.- 2sc, 1inc, 2sc, 1inc, 2sc, 1inc=12sc

19r.- 12sc

Fasten off.

BODY: (video)

1r.- Joint yarn on right leg With 1 slst, and 1sc on left leg, mark here for 1rst round. ) 12Sc around Left leg, 1sc on FLO of the ch from the beginning slst, 12sc on the other leg(right), 1sc on BLO of the ch from the beginning slst. = 26sc

2r.- (2sc, 1inc)x8 , 2sc = 34sc

3r.- 8sc, 1inc, 16sc, 1inc, 8sc =36sc

4r.- (8sc, 1inc)x4 = 40sc

5r.- 3sc, 1dec, 9sc, 1inc, 9sc, 1inc, 9sc, 1dec, 4sc =40sc

Here, we’ll join the arms.

ARMS(2):

1r.- 4sc on mg

JOINING ARMS TO THE BODY:

25r.- 5sc on body, (1sc on body together with the arm, 2sc on arm, 1sc on arm together with the next st on the body), 6sc on body, (1sc on body together with the other arm, 2sc on arm, 1sc on arm together with the body), 1sc =20scStuff

Optional (Add wire for articulate)

26r. 4sc, 2dec, 8sc, 2dec, 1sc=16sc (this round is fixed and it’s different from the video)

27r. 8 Dec.

28- 30r.- 8sc around for 3 rounds.

Stuff the neck really well.

Stuff and sew the feet together.

NECK/CHEST HAIR:

• (GREEN)

15ch,

1.- 1sc on second ch(leave 1 inch strand on each sc), 13sc with strand for hair.(video) Fasten off.

HEAD:

• (GREEN)

1round.- 4 sc on mg (leave enough yarn, and pull it through the magic ring’s hole to make the hair, cut and fuss)

2r.- 4inc =8sc

3r.- 8Sc

4.- (1sc , 1inc )x 4 = 12sc

5.-6r.- 2sc(2r)(Make the hair with the the strand left from the beginning mg)

7.- (2sc, 1inc)x4= 16sc

8.- 3sc, 3inc, 2sc, 1inc, 2sc, 3inc, 2sc=23sc

9. 23sc

10. 6sc,1inc, 3sc, 4inc, 3sc, 1inc, 5sc=29sc

11-12r.- 29sc(2)

13.- 6sc, 1dec, 14sc, 1dec, 5sc=27sc

14.- 27sc

15.- 7sc, 1dec, 6sc, 1dec, 4sc, 1dec, 4sc =24sc

16.- 8sc, 1dec, 3sc, 1dec, 3sc, 1dec, 4sc=21sc

17.- 21sc

18.- (2sc, 1dec, )x5 , 1sc =16sc

19.- (8sc, 2dec, 4sc) =14sc

Insert the eyes with the felt to the head (see video)

Fasten off.

EYEBROWS:

• (right and left – thyme color)

Right eyebrow:

4ch, 1slst on second ch from hook, 1ch.

Fasten off.

Left eyebrow:

20r.- 6dec, 2sc=8sc

2ch, 1slst on second ch from hook, 3ch.

Fasten off.

Sew to the head(see video)

Make the details(video)

• Embroider the nose and mouth.

• Sew head to the body.

SCARF:

• (red and white)

Make :

16 red rows and 15 white rows, changing color every other row.

Starting with red:

6 ch,

1.- 1 dc in the 3rd ch from the hook, 3 dc,

White:

2.- 2 ch, 4 dc

Keep changing colors:

3-31.- 2 ch, 4 dc

Fasten off.

Cut 10 red strands of yarn and place 5 in each side.
