Join me to crochet “La Catrina,” an iconic character from Mexican culture. 💀👒Originally known as La Calavera Garbancera, she was illustrated by José Guadalupe Posada as a critique of those who denied their roots.Later, Diego Rivera immortalized her in his mural “Dream of a Sunday Afternoon in the Alameda Central,” giving her the name by which we know her today: La Catrina.Today, she is a symbol of the Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead), a celebration where we remember and honor our loved ones who have passed away. 🕯️🌼

-Cut a mini heart(triangle) of black felt to make the nose. Glue it or sew it between the eyes.
-Embroider the mouth (teeth)

Cut the strands by the middle, and puff fur with a brush

– Sew flowers on top from off the hat and glue the feathers.
– Sew bows to the ears part of the skull- Sew hat to the head
